Science: Adventures In The Scientific Method

This class will include hands-on labs we will be completing together in class plus
reading assignments, vocab, and questions to complete at home. Students will
use a sketch book for additional observational drawings and records of scientific
significance.

Lab equipment and supplies will be provided in class.

4th/5th History

History - American
America’s Story series by Angela O’Dell

This class will include:
‚ Weekly classroom instruction and discussion
‚ Reading assignments
‚ Workbook questions at home
‚ Project presentations
‚ Maps, timelines and memorization

Bible - foundational memory work, beginning church history
This class will include:
‚ Weekly memory verses
‚ Reading assignments
‚ Music/ hymns in class

Middle School Writing

‚ 8th graders - persuasive writing instruction and more speech focus

Middle School Science

Science: Intro to Chemistry and Biology
A hands-on, laboratory-based exploration of modern science with an emphasis on Chemistry and Biology for Middle School students.  This class will include hands-on labs we will be completing together in class plus reading assignments, vocab, and questions to complete at home. Students will also get to design and complete their own science experiment for the student
science fair.

Science in the Atomic Age by Dr. Jay Wile
Answer Key and Tests for Science in the Atomic Age

Laboratory equipment and supplies will be provided in class (please do not purchase).

Middle School History

History - 1600s to modern day, Masterbook’s World’s Story 3 by Angela O’Dell

This class will include:

Middle School Bible

Bible - Bible Survey using Route 66 & Missionary biographies
This class will include:
‚ Weekly classroom instruction and discussion
‚ Reading assignments
‚ Bible verse memorization, approx. 30 verses
‚ Workbook questions at home
‚ Missionary biographies with comprehension and context

High School Course Descriptions

High School English

"In reading great literature I become a thousand men and yet remain myself." - C.S. Lewis

This mixed-level High School English course includes a study of great literary works, writing, vocabulary, speaking, business communication, grammar, and logic.  Literature studies this year include Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan (1678), The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien (1936), and The Confession of St. Patrick (ca. 450 AD).

High School Biology

Discovering Design with Biology is a laboratory-based high school biology course.  It gives the student an introduction to how living organisms are designed, how they interact with one another, and how they interact with their physical environment. This class will include hands-on labs we will be completing together in class plus reading assignments, vocab, and questions to complete at home. Students will also get to design and complete their own science experiment for the student science fair.

High School World Geography

Exploring World Geography by Ray Notgrass
This course is a survey of the physical geography of the world and human geography—how humans throughout history have interacted with geography. The student reads lessons about the geography of different parts of the world, answers review questions, completes map skills assignments, and reads historical documents.
