• HS English Literature and Composition​​

  • Pilgrim's Progress Part 1 by John Bunyan. Choose only one of these options: 

    • The Pilgrim's Progress Legacy Edition by Lithos Kids (also available as a set).  See also lithoskids.com.  This version is unabridged, but modernized making this classic work easier to read without loosing any of its original depth and beauty.  Historic illustrations and full Bible verses printed in the margins (not just the references).​ A beautiful hardbound book!

    • The Pilgrim's Progress published by Masterbooks.  Unabridged, historic language. The reading is a little more difficult (like reading the KJV Bible), but this version is a nicely-organized high-quality paperback with Bunyan's scripture references in the margins and short chapter divisions.

    • Any unabridged version you have.  There are hundreds of options; just please make sure the one you choose is the full, unabridged story (we will be reading only Part 1 - Christian's Journey).

  • The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien (any copy is fine)

  • Confessions of St. Patrick

  • Roots of English by Paul O'Brien workbook, published by Memoria Press
